SanDisk Photo Album Makes Sharing Easier

Posted by sickofgadgets.com

While manufacturers have managed to cram larger LCD displays onto digital cameras, they’re still far too small for sharing photos with a group of people. But as long as you have access to a relatively large TV, sharing your shots becomes easy with this SanDisk Photo Album. It looks and works like a large multi-format [...]

Designer keyboard is ugly ergonomic perfection

Posted by sickofgadgets.com

Nicholas Tavlas has spent a lot of time developing a keyboard that perfects keyboard ergonomics. The unfortunate fact is through the creation process he never took a step back to see what an ugly duckling has been created. A lot of research was put into the design process. The split in the keyboard allows the [...]

Bizarro world clock rotates numbers, keeps hands stationary

The Pisa clock is inspired after the Italian leaning tower, which is pretty apparent from the slanted backing to the clock. While keeping with the Italian design, this clock includes swappable numbers in the traditional and roman numeral style. Like most of the unique and designer clocks we see, the Pisa is next to impossible [...]

Upcoming FireWire spec revs things up to 3.2Gbps

Posted by sickofgadgets.com

USB 3.0 really threw down this September with a theoretical max throughput of 4Gbps, but it looks like FireWire isn’t going down without a fight. The latest and greatest FireWire version, dubbed “S3200″ by those creatives up in marketing, uses the same ports and cables as FireWire 800, but boosts speeds to 3.2Gbps, which should [...]

iDiamond ear: $6,400 earbuds don’t come any cheaper

Posted by sickofgadgets.com

We were never too hip with the precious metals, and we can’t say we’re doing any better with this setup. The iDiamond ear, built by Heyerdahl jewelry, is slicked up with 18 karat gold and 204 diamonds, but we can’t help but seeing a pair of cheap headphones with glitter on them — with a [...]

Plans are underway for China’s capital city of Beijing to have the longest a subway system in the world by 2015. The expansion calls for five new subway lines with nearly 350 miles of track between them, and would dethrone the current king of underground transportation, the London Underground, which has 250 miles of track.

Eco Store Christmas tree decorations let you be both nerdy and green at the same time

Posted by sickofgadgets.com

I have always thought that the tech nerds and the tree huggers were pretty much mutually exclusive groups. It seems however that there must be some people who identify with both camps, at least if Nigel’s Eco Store expects to sell any of these Christmas tree ornaments made from recycled circuit boards and CDs. One [...]

Nothing’s worse than stepping into a freezing cold shower. Sure, you could have checked the water with your hand to make sure it was warm enough to enter, but who has the time for such things? Time is money, people!
That’s why this lighted shower head is so great. It changes color with the temperature of [...]

Horrors of design: Meat Toilet

We’ve seen musical toilets, stealthy toilets, waterless toilets, pimped-out toilets and even toilets that’ll improve your upper body strength. You know what’s missing from that list? Take a guess. Peek to the right and then come back over here. I’ll wait. Yeah, a Meat Toilet.
The work of artist Simone Racheli, the Meat Toilet is a [...]

The picture says it all, Intel’s going crazy small with its latest SSD chips, but it’s certainly not leaving capacity behind. The new Intel Z-P140 PATA SSD chips come in 2GB and 4GB capacities, are extendable up to 16GB, and weigh less than a drop of water. We’re already impatient for phone manufacturers and DAP [...]

Bookshelf Christmas Tree

I’m all for easier solutions when it comes to holiday decorating, so I wholeheartedly support this clever alternative to a Christmas Tree. Why drive out to the local tree farm where you have to deal with cold temperatures, pushy tree salesman and a vehicle that’s far too small to carry it, when you have everything [...]

Intel develops integrated WiFi / WiMAX / DVB-H chip

Intel, clearly not wanting to be left in the dust by the slew of new wireless technologies that are starting to converge, nasty-like, inside our shiny new devices, has begun testing on a chip which can effortlessly swap between WiFi, WiMAX, and DVB-H. The idea is that the chip’s radio would talk to your WiFi [...]

Listen, we know you think your RAID setup is pretty snazzy, and, truth be told, it probably makes our rig look silly by comparison. Chocolate Portable HD Tastes Like Plastic Splinters

Posted by sickofgadgets.com

The Chocolate Portable HD may not actually be much more complicated than a USB hub and a bunch of flash drives, but its modular form factor suggests a variety of uses. For example, you could sort your files onto individual chocolate pieces, and then when (or if) you go to work, you can just take [...]
