If we’re ever going to colonize the moon in any serious way, we’re going to need to terraform it. That is, we’re going to need to figure out how to grow plants up there to provide oxygen. In a big of great news on that front, it looks like scientists have figured out how to grow plants in the moon dust that covers the surface of our favorite satellite.

All that they needed to do was add a special bacteria to the moon dust, one that helped transfer nutrients from the moondust to the flowers. Now when our planet gets too polluted and disgusting for us to live on anymore, we can go tend gardens on the moon. Sign me up!
